This weekend, I tried to get a Kid Rock parody up onto the internet. Basically making fun of how All Summer Long used nostalgia and boobies to become a crossover hit.
Every possible technical error happened, and I am taking it as a sign from the universe that people just aren't meant to see this thing on YouTube (also, it's not really up to my standards). So, I am going to put it on the DVD. I am also trying to write some standup for the DVD. Or something like that. I would like to put something substantial on the DVD that you can't get anywhere else and that sounds like a cool idea.
I think the next video will be "The Lost Land of Ikea," then the BIG AXL PARODY!

Well, it took "Florida rockers" (as the news articles say to identify the location and general demeanor of a group of people) Shinedown 3 albums to do it, but they made a decent song. All by themselves! Wowie! Check out some
shinedown photos - what tools!
I heard it on the radio today. I don't know what it was called. But I will say this: it's good to know we live in a country that will take a dogshit act like Shinedown and give them as long as possible to make something above-average.
There's a reason why
Shinedown concerts are almost never sold out. It's because the best thing they had done prior to whatever their current single is was an acoustic cover of Lynyrd Skynynynynyard's "Simple Man" that wasn't dogshit because that shit-ass band wasn't playing generic "modern rock" under that guy's actually pretty kickass voice. In fact, if he were in a band that didn't suck... like VELVET REVOLVER (nudge, nudge)... That'd be awesome. Actually, no... Lenny Kravitz would rock in VR. I want Lenny Kravitz.
Why does rock music have to suck so bad? It's my favorite genre of contemporary music and it just plain sucks. Either it's generic metal-ish-but-accessable-to-the-classic-rock-crowd-Hinder-Angel-whatever horsecock or it's full-blown relive-the-80s-check-out-the-new-Motley-Crue-abortion excretions. Fortunately, things have been turning around a bit lately. And Shinedown is evidence. If a terrible shit band like them can make an ok song, there is hope.
